Life drawing
This past Friday I attended the Gallery Girls' Drawing Marathon Model Fundraiser at the Silver Drawing Academy. Sometimes I forget how much fun it is to draw large and get loose. It also helps when you draw just right of Steven Silver and sneaking peeks at what he is doing. :)

Squiggle
I think all artist have their version of the squiggle-art, that exercise where you make random squiggles on a page and see what you can find in them. I mostly use this when my mind is full of junk. It is therapeutic to make lines of pure emotion then go back with a rational eye to pick the shapes and patterns. And sometimes you get lucky and find something cool.

Most Holy of Joggers...
Years ago when I was working on Pico in LA, I saw something that was so awesome I nearly caused a car accident by gawking. Edible Art Game of Thrones Style
Every year, the marvelous lord and lady of House Hendron throw a Game of Thrones Premiere Bash, and my roommate and I are known for our themed cakes. We have tackled the Wall and a map of Westeros, but this year we wanted to do something special. In celebration of the nuptials of Jeoffrey and Margery we assembled a three tier wedding cake, and true to weddings in the GOT fashion, the inside was red velvet cake with a blood dark chocolate frosting. This monster took three weeks of planning and one week of execution.
All the elements, except the hair net (wink to all the readers out there), are edible and delicious. The home-made frosting and baking were all the work the talented baker Alareece, Jeoffrey's marzipan crown is mine, roses and assembly was pure teamwork.
Three cheers to our hosts for such a stupendous wedding feast.
